Health & Fasting Disclaimer

Effective September 29, 2026

Holy Spirit Ascension ("HSA") offers fasting programs and other spiritual formation practices intended to help participants turn their attention toward God. These resources are educational and spiritual in nature. They are not medical care, diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, or individualized health advice.

1. Spiritual Formation, Not Medical Treatment

Holy Spirit Ascension is operated by My Crown of Grace Publishing LLC as a spiritual formation platform. HSA fasting programs are designed around prayer, surrender, Scripture, reflection, and intentional spiritual practice.

Information provided through HSA concerning fasting, food, hydration, rest, movement, sunlight, sleep, nutrition, breaking a fast, or other physical practices is provided for general educational purposes within that spiritual context.

HSA does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure medical or mental health conditions and does not provide individualized medical, nutritional, psychiatric, psychological, or other professional healthcare services.

2. Fasting Is Not Appropriate for Everyone

Fasting can affect people differently. A practice that is reasonable for one person may be inappropriate or unsafe for another.

You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning a restrictive, prolonged, water-only, or otherwise significant food fast when you have a medical condition, take medication, have specialized nutritional needs, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or have another circumstance that could make fasting inappropriate or unsafe.

Children and adolescents have different nutritional and developmental needs. HSA fasting programs should not be interpreted as directing a minor to undertake restrictive or prolonged food fasting without appropriate parental or guardian involvement and qualified medical guidance.

3. Medications and Medical Conditions

Do not stop, reduce, delay, or alter prescribed medication because of an HSA fasting program unless the change has been directed by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Some medications must be taken with food, require particular timing, or may interact with changes in hydration, blood sugar, blood pressure, electrolytes, or nutrition. Medical conditions may also change how the body responds to fasting.

HSA cannot determine whether a particular fast is compatible with your medications, diagnoses, medical history, or individual health needs.

4. Listen to Your Body

Participation in a fasting program should never require ignoring concerning physical or psychological symptoms.

Stop or modify a fast and seek appropriate medical assistance if you experience symptoms that concern you or suggest that continuing may be unsafe. Severe, rapidly worsening, or emergency symptoms require appropriate urgent or emergency medical care.

HSA materials cannot evaluate symptoms or determine whether a symptom is medically significant. When you are uncertain about your physical response to fasting, seek guidance from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Stopping a fast is not spiritual failure.

A fasting program is a guide for spiritual practice, not a test of worthiness. Modifying or ending a fast because of health, medication, nutritional needs, or safety does not erase the prayer, surrender, or intention that brought you to the practice.

5. Water and Prolonged Fasting

Some HSA materials may discuss water fasting or fasting for extended periods. These practices can carry greater health risks than ordinary changes in meal timing or food selection.

Risks may vary according to the length and type of fast, hydration, medications, medical conditions, nutritional status, activity, environment, and individual physiology.

The presence of preparation instructions, suggested liquids, electrolyte information, refeeding information, or other safety guidance in an HSA program does not make a prolonged fast medically appropriate for every person and does not replace individualized professional advice.

6. Breaking a Fast

HSA may provide general educational information about returning to food after fasting. Individual needs differ, particularly after prolonged or restrictive fasting.

People with medical conditions, prolonged periods of limited food intake, significant nutritional concerns, or concerning symptoms should seek qualified medical guidance regarding how and when to resume eating.

HSA does not provide individualized refeeding protocols or determine whether a particular food, quantity, supplement, electrolyte product, or meal is medically appropriate for an individual.

7. Supplements, Electrolytes, and Other Products

References to salt, electrolytes, herbal teas, foods, supplements, bone broth, or other products within HSA materials are educational and do not constitute a prescription or individualized medical recommendation.

Products may differ in ingredients, concentrations, quality, and suitability. Supplements and electrolyte products may interact with medications or medical conditions.

Participants are responsible for reviewing product information and, when appropriate, discussing use with a qualified healthcare professional.

8. Alternatives to Food Fasting

Food restriction is not the only way to practice surrender, simplicity, or focused attention toward God.

If abstaining from food is not reasonable or safe for you, consider bringing that limitation before God and choosing another meaningful form of surrender. Depending upon your circumstances, this could involve stepping away from entertainment, unnecessary spending, social media, particular comforts, or another voluntary practice that ordinarily occupies your attention.

The spiritual purpose of fasting should not require placing your health in unnecessary danger.

9. Mental and Emotional Well-Being

Prayer, fasting, journaling, silence, self-examination, and other spiritual practices may bring emotions, memories, fears, grief, or other personal experiences into greater awareness.

HSA resources are not a substitute for mental health treatment, trauma care, psychiatric treatment, counseling, or other professional support when those services are needed.

If a spiritual practice is contributing to significant distress, confusion, worsening symptoms, or difficulty functioning, consider pausing or modifying the practice and seeking appropriate support.

10. Spiritual Experiences and Physical Symptoms

HSA discusses spiritual experiences, prayer, discernment, dreams, visions, symbolism, hearing God, and other aspects of spiritual formation.

A spiritual interpretation should not be used to dismiss or ignore a physical or psychological symptom that may require professional attention. Experiencing something during prayer, fasting, or another spiritual practice does not by itself establish whether the cause is spiritual, physical, psychological, environmental, or something else.

Participants remain responsible for seeking appropriate medical or mental health evaluation when circumstances warrant it.

11. No Emergency or Crisis Services

Holy Spirit Ascension and HSA support email are not emergency, medical, mental health, or crisis-response services. Messages sent to HSA are not continuously monitored and should not be relied upon for urgent assistance.

If you believe you or another person is experiencing a medical emergency, immediate danger, or another urgent crisis, contact the appropriate emergency or crisis services available in your location.

12. Personal Responsibility

Participation in HSA fasting programs and physical spiritual practices is voluntary. You remain responsible for determining whether and how you participate, considering your health and circumstances, and obtaining professional guidance when appropriate.

You may adapt, postpone, or discontinue a practice when necessary for health or safety. HSA does not require participants to continue fasting against medical advice or through concerning symptoms.

13. Changes to This Disclaimer

This Health & Fasting Disclaimer may be updated as HSA programs develop, health-related content changes, or legal and safety requirements evolve.

When this Disclaimer is updated, the effective date at the beginning of the page will be revised.
